Double award for Parallel Realities

Parallel Realities, David's fourth solo recording, has been awarded Solo CD of the Year 2015 by both Brass Band World and the British Bandsman magazines.

Paul Hindmarsh from British Bandsman commented: "Parallel Realities is yet another significant contribution to this remarkable player's legacy and we congratulate David Thornton on yet another very-deserved award."

David told BBW: “I’m absolutely thrilled that the disc has been given recognition, especially given the incredible nature of the artists on the other nominated discs. It’s always somewhat of a risk to record or perform a project that strays from convention and I still feel I’m only scratching the surface of what’s possible within the electro-acoustic world. However, I’m delighted with the resulting combination of repertoire and hope that people enjoy listening to it!"

"I want to emphasise the point that producer, Adam Goldsmith is as much the artist on this project as I am. His hard work and expertise have produced a natural balance and texture between the live and pre-recorded elements, which is absolutely no mean feat in this repertoire context. Thanks to all the team at World of Sound for their complete package, recording, design and patient post-production.”
