David Thornton featured in Manger Musikklag's 'The Very Best in History' concert series in early December 2009 and the full performance can be seen within the video section on this site.
Euphonium star David Thornton played a central role in this instalment of Manger Musikklag's concert series 'The Very Best in History'.
The long standing series has taken music from each decade of the 20th century and started in 2006. By its close in 2012, the series will hopefully have showcased some of the finest brass band music ever written.
This time it is the music from the 1970s and compositions from the pens of Edward Gregson, Eric Ball, Joseph Horowitz and Malcolm Arnold.
David performed Philip Sparke's Fantasy and the 'Euphonium Concerto' by Joseph Horovitz, after the composer himself stated about a previous performance, "David gave a positively amazing performance of my euphonium concerto. He is now the third generation of players who have joined the 'inner circle' of my favourites."
